CREWE AND NANTWICH LIONS CLUB
WELFARE PAGE
Things we do to help people are called welfare items, that means that anybody writing into us asking for assistance has a chance of being helped.
Most items are naturally investigated, and in most cases the people requesting help are visited where possible.
The club deals with lots of requests each year from, Gran's cooker needing replacement because it is broken, to helping send a child physically disadvantaged to Florida for specialist treatment.
Most of our work of this nature never reaches the press, in fact there are times when we inform the local press and they just ignore the item.
We as a club help a large cross section of the local community in one way or another.
One of the welfare items we do is to allocate stalls at a Charity Fayre held in Nantwich Town Centre, for a small contribution local charities can have a stall for the day to sell any items to help with there funds.
We also have a stall there to help boost our funds.
At Christmas time we also give away approx £5000 to local good causes, this is spread across a large cross section from St John, Red Cross to M.S Society, Diabetes the list is long.
